A Little History
The underground of Lindenhof contains what is left of a part of the Roman castle that was located on the Lindenhof hill. When Zürich was part of the Roman Empire, a castle was built on this hill so the Romans could see the enemy approaching. Lindenhof is also quite a historic place as it is where the first evidence of Zürich's name was discovered in 1747. The name: "Turīcum" was found on a tombstone in Lindenhof. This is where the city got it's name from.
